Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

GOODREAD’S BOOK DESCRIPTION

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

REVIEW

Everything, Everything is about a girl name Madeline or Maddie who lived her life in isolation from the outside world for 18 years because she's sick. She has Severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). SCID is an extremely rare genetic disorder, she is allergic to anything and isn't able to go outside because she could either contaminate anyone she touches or anyone she touches. She only takes online schooling and normally skypes with her teachers since she can't go to school because if she step outside and feels or inhale the fresh air or wind she will die and thats make her scared. The only thing exist in her world is her Mom who is her personal doctor and her nurse Carla. Then one day a new neighbors move in next door. When Maddie looks in her window she saw the boy who's name Olly. Olly's family intrigue Maddy's so she started watching them.

Olly and Maddie started communicating with each other and form their friendship throughout emailing and somehow be able to meet each other. When Carla let them meet Olly is not allowed to touch Maddie so when they meet they will just talk with each other.

"I was happy before I met him. But I’m alive now, and those are not the same thing."

I really like Olly and Maddie together and while reading this book I have some mixed feelings.
I highly recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a good contemporary genre novel.

"Love is worth everything. Everything."
